biography
As an Irish painter, I suppose it's inevitable that I'm drawn to landscape work. However, I generally concentrate on the areas where land meets water - such as riverbanks, riverbeds, beaches & shorelines. My paintings are an exploration of these areas and my response to the interaction of the elements there. Lately I've been very interested in exploring the concept of time in my work by using themes based on erosion & the sea tides. art education 1997-1998 Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork B.A. in Fine Art 1994-1997 Sligo Institute of Technology, Sligo Diploma in Fine Art exhibitions Sept 2007 Tide Line at the Belltable Arts Centre, Limerick (solo) June-Aug'07 Summer Exhibition at the Hallward Gallery (group show) Apr–May ’07 Céad in China touring Shangai, Hangzhou & Beijing, China (group show) March 2007 Water & Stone at the Hallward Gallery, Dublin (joint exhibition) Nov–Jan ’07 Mid-Winter Exhibition at the Hallward Gallery, Dublin (group show) Nov ’06 Liberté d’Expression at Candid Arts Trust, London (group show) Aug–Sept ’06 What Lies Beneath at The Old Market House Arts Centre, Co.
